Food Donations
Wants and needs
Our needs are detailed in a weekly update that’s sent out, largely to Street Heroes, by our office team. Click here to receive these updates.
Facebook is another great place to follow alerts regarding the items that we are particularly short of.
We use everything that is donated so long as it doesn’t contain alcohol, out of date, opened packets, home-made food or food in excessively damaged packaging.
*see ‘your parcel‘ section for more information about ‘Best Before’ and ‘Use By’ dates.
Donations at the warehouse
Our warehouse is open for donations between 8:30am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday. If you are unable to make this time, please let us know (01494 512 277). Equally, we can collect donations if needed.
Our address is: One Can Trust, 11b Duke Street, High Wycombe, Bucks, HP13 6EE (use HP13 6EE for sat nav). The warehouse is actually accessed from Townfield Road which runs adjacent to Duke Street.
Donations at supermarkets
Many local supermarkets support One Can Trust by providing a collection point in their store. If you’re doing your food shop, you can simply pick up a few extra items for the food bank and place them in the One Can Trust donation cage before you leave.
Please only place items purchased from that supermarket in its donation cage. This helps the store manage donations correctly and ensures that items donated through its collection point can be accepted and processed safely.
Please note: We can accept most in-date, unopened food, but cannot accept alcohol, opened packets, homemade food or food in excessively damaged packaging.
Online shopping
Ordering online and arranging for the items to be delivered to our warehouse, works really well. Please arrange for the delivery between 8:30am- 3:30pm, Monday – Friday. Our address is One Can Trust, 11b Duke Street, High Wycombe, Bucks, HP13 6EE (use HP13 6EE for sat nav). The contact number for the delivery driver is: 01494 512 277. Thank you.
Street Heroes
You may have noticed our yellow signs and tubs around the town where people in the local community kindly collect food from friends and neighbours and bring it to our warehouse in Duke Street. You can read more about our Street Heroes here.
